Mark Kiarie is a visionary designer, builder, and problem solver, passionate about leveraging technology to drive business growth in Africa. As a Co-Founder of Chpter, he has been instrumental in developing innovative commerce tools that empower online businesses across the continent. Under his leadership, Chpter has grown to support over 1,000 businesses in Kenya and South Africa and has successfully raised over $1,000,000 in venture capital funding from global investors.
Prior to Chpter, Mark co-founded Carren, a pioneering credit scoring solution that enabled financial institutions to extend financing to SMEs. The venture achieved significant success, being acquired by a microfinance institution within 24 months.
Before transitioning into technology-driven entrepreneurship, Mark honed his skills as a Design Consultant at Boogertman + Partners Architects, the largest architectural firm in Africa. His academic background includes a first-class honors degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi and further studies at the University of Pescara in Italy.
Mark's journey reflects his commitment to creating value and opportunities for over 100 million small and medium-sized businesses in Africa, showcasing the continent's potential to leapfrog into a prosperous future.
